Bottom line is that no group with any specific interest, be it VHF contesters,
rag chewers or whatever, has the right to any specific frequencies at any given
time. Actually, isn't one of the responses about driving someone off of a
frequency against FCC rules?

More than that, I heard from a friend recently that some stateside guys were
ragchewing on 50.110 and were adamant about not moving. Seems like more
folks that have no regard for their fellow VHF'ers. Have been inactive
myself in recent years, but hope one day to get going again.

A very good question. When I was just starting out in this VHF contesting
game I had the same question and went to the source at the ARRL to get the
answer. I was told that the intent of the prohibition against operating on
146.52 was that you could not operate any closer than the nearest nationally
recognized simplex (146.49 and 146.55) channel. In those parts of the
country that have 20 or 15 kHz channel spacing then those would be the
recognized limits. For SSB the answer is not nearly as straight forward.
Since there has never been an SSB frequency not allowed for use during a
contest that would be new ground.

The LOTW is a good option, I have confirmed more thant 30 states using this
metod for my 6m WAS that is supported, fast, cheap,
If we support later they will add the other ARRL supported Awards.

Not that I'm aware of.
You might consider just up loading your QSOs to ARRL's LOTW. Seems like
it's only a matter of time until it supports VUCC awards.

W4NH runs FM on 2, 222 and 432 bands. Being the 2 meter guy I call CQ on
146.55 whenever things get slow on SSB. I make a few Qs every contest but
not nearly as many as you would think. We make a fair number of contacts on
223.5 also. I don't recall ever making a contact on 446.

I don't think as many people look down upon it as you might think...
Most, if not all, big gun contest stations have FM rigs for each band.
They're not really there for mults, but to add to the Q count. If FM was
looked down upon, they wouldn't bother :)

OK for what it's worth, I attempt to make contact on FM during ever
contest. In addition to setting up a second radio to monitor 146.55 and
147.54, I also call CQ ever once and a while.
At best I get two to three additional contacts via FM. Unlike W4KXY,
I've netted a few on 446.00 FM. Seems that a few people monitor the
calling frequency out here. Can't catch people monitoring 146.52 but do
pick up a few on 446.00.

Yes, 28.250, 144.290, 222. and 432.35 are all operating. The 50.07
is down pending some time to replace the driver transistor. It has tended to
go through them! Also the 0.175 is off pending a titch of repair!
28.25 is the high power beacon - about 2.5 Watts. 2 meters is about
1 watt. The others are 2 of a bit below.

The Columbia ARA/PVRC Field Day effort will be on 50 SSB/CW, 144 SSB/CW,
222 SSB/CW, 432 SSB/CW, and 1296 SSB/CW from FM19mg.
