Due to various event, I will not be active for the September VHF contest.
Foremost is the hurricane Katrina disaster. I may be heading south will a
trailer full of items for folks down there. Also, rather than spend $100 or so
on gas, I feel the disaster relief folks could put it to better use than I
could driving around. A contest seems rather low on the radar screen
considering all that's happened.
Also, with all the controversy on here over something as silly as pack roving,
I'm somewhat disheartened with VHF contesting....it's time to get back on 160.
Also, I'd really like to see VHF contesting be just that, a contest on JUST the
VHF bands. ie. 6 meters, 2 meters and 222Mhz. 432Mhz and above are not VHF
frequencies.
73 es GL to those who participate. All you rovers, including the pack rovers,
who are, by the way, operating within the current rules, drive safely.
Perhaps I'll get back on in January...........maybe not.
