    The data I posted went back only to 1975.   I do not have previous
data for the June and  September contests, but in the January contest we
experienced a ten year period of over 1000 logs submitted starting in
1958.  Indeed, the highest year for that contest was 1961, with about 1550
logs submitted.  In those days, almost everybody was on six or two meters
(some on both), using Sixeers, Twoers, Gooney Boxes, and the
like, working mostly locals except when six meters opened [mainly in
June].
