Can anyone tell me if digital modes (packet, rtty, etc.) are allowed by the
contest rules and United States FCC rules for the ARRL Januray VHF
Sweepstakes and the June & September VHF QSO Parites? If so, can you also
provide some technical information and/or advice (such as which mode(s) can
legally and should be used along with the other settings such as FM, USB,
LSB, mark / space, typical frequencies for using these types of digital
modes on the various bands). I am already aware that a valid QSO for
contest point(s) MUST be "attended" as opposed to a beacon, mailbox
connection, or other type of automated conneciton. I'm asking because I
thought maybe I would give it a try.

Please respond directly to me at mailto:WG1Z@ARRL.net as well as on the
reflector.

Thanks and I hope to work you in the contest(s) from FN42

Joe
