Virtually all of our "formulas" for things were the result of equations based on simplifying assumptions that made the solutions easier. When applying these "formulas," it's critical to remember what those simplifying assumptions were.

For example, Zo = sqrt(L/C) is based on F being high. The transmission line equation is complex, so Zo varies with frequency, as do Vf and attenuation.
