I always put mine in when pouring the concrete. If it is too soft for the
pin to stay in position I pull it out and try again a few minutes later.
Eventually the concrete will have the right consistency to hold the pin and
you can do something else the remainder of the day.

Need the correct way to do this. In my search efforts could not find any
documentation involving this issue. Having installed and taken down
various tower installs in the past I am about to do a install involving
a pier pin with the standard Rohn galvanized base.

Previous experiences with installs and take downs has always been
sections and rebar placed in the hole, various fold overs and extension
towers but never a pier pin until now, Go figure!

I am using Rohn products and yheir guidance from the their book and my
question is the correct way to install the 3/4" x 12 pin into the
concrete base. Do I place the pin into the fresh concrete after it is
poured and of course before the concrete cures supporting the pin so it
is plumb and vertical above the base of the concrete by approximately 3-4" ?

Or do I drill out a hole once the curing has subsided in approx 30 days
and insert the pin with some epoxy concrete hardener applied to the pin
upon insertion?

I have a hammer drill but not relishing the thought of the latter with a
bit to handle the 3/4" diameter along with the cost of purchasing said
drill bit designed for concrete use.

Thanks for responses in advance, 73! Charles "Ed" K5OF in NC
