I have some that's older than that; and it seems to be fine. No hard data,
but no issues, either. I also use it for lubricating latches and strike
plates on our exterior doors. Really slick; and I wipe it on bare metal
parts of tools - like chisels & planes. It seems to have some
rust-preventive properties in that application, as well, and with no residue
on the wood being worked.
