You really don't want to do that without bracing the mast with something
like the braces Tim suggested. Years ago, I made something similar out
of steel angle stock and U-bolts.
BTW, although the DXE page shows two braces in one photo, it appears
they are sold individually. While one might prevent rotation, at least
two would be required to prevent the mast from tilting and stressing the
thrust bearing, unless you stabilize the mast with ropes, or something
else. I suppose, if there's only one beam on the mast, you could slide
it down to right on top of the thrust bearing before removing the rotator.

Put a clamp around the mast, tight against the thrust bearing to hold the
weight, pull the rotor. If you need more clearance to slip the new rotor in,
put a bottle or scissor jack under the mast at that point, lift, loosen the
clamp, slide it down, reclamp, remove jack.

I'm looking for suggestions to lift mast, with antennas just enough to
replace the rotator, which is a Ham III. Rotator is shelf mounted about 2
feet below the top thrust bearing. All ideas are appreciated.
