John, Use a lever (large screwdriver) to lift the mast a quarter to half
inch. Then clamp the mast above head unit with either a muffler clamp,
large hose clamp or perhaps a locking bolt in the Head Unit if you are
fortunate.

I'm looking for suggestions to lift mast, with antennas just enough to
replace the rotator, which is a Ham III. Rotator is shelf mounted about 2
feet below the top thrust bearing. All ideas are appreciated.
