Tell me about funny looks :)
I took Ethiopian Airlines to Madagascar last year with golf bag
(spiderbeam) and ski bag (verticals and 6m beam).
Poor girl at check in did not even know what to do with them, asked the
supervisor, they both laughed and let me in for free :)
