Nicking copperweld was mentioned. Amen! Had some for a 160 up here on
coast and the little salt air gremlins cut through the exposed wire like
butter and kerplop!.Stuff is strong but sure not for coast areas, at
least not here where I am. I'll take the copper stretch and deal with it
as needed.

When doing the pre-stretching, the wire ALWAYS breaks at one end or
the other. We've done this at least ten times. (That is, with 3-4
spools, which I think were 1,000 ft).
Probably because however you attach it to the end point increases the
local stress (twisting, bending, what have you)
