Eric,

I control my DCU-3 using DXView, which is part of the DXLab suite of 
software and it is free. It works very well for me. (I'm assuming you 
mean DCU-3 and NOT DC-3.)
I never use that control at the top of the middle column except to set 
options in the DCU-3 unit.
