i had one of there in the 60's still have some of it. the element
had a 1 inch brass ball on each end. the coil was about an inch in
dia and two foot long. the end of each element would slide out of
the trap driven by the motor which was in the middle of the element
at the boom. it was encasted in a very large housing. 6 inchs in
dia if i recall. the mast to boom mount was a large cardle type with
U bolts that held the motor enclosure in it. worked very well
for 80 and 40 meters.. well ahead of its time. but like all motor
driven elements went the way of the tapered Kirk Yagi and a few others.
i may sitll have some paperwork on it out in the shop somewhere but
after 60 years not too sure. but xyl says i NEVER throw anything away
broken or not hi hi...
hope this may be of some help
