Bob,
I have used about 25 Cadweld One-Shot devices with really no problems.
Once, one of the two wires backed out a bit and was not welded. There is no
pouring of metal and igniter material, it all comes in a small drop-in
container. I bought most of my Cadweld devices on e-Bay and paid $5 - $7
for them. You can go to the Cadweld site to determine which part number you
will need.
I have not bought or used the very expensive electric Cadweld igniter for
these units. I use an small tip acetylene torch to ignite the charge. MAPP
gas type torches are not hot enough. I have not had to use the clay seal
KF7P uses although I have seen other videos where it was used.
To me, there is really no advantage of one unit over either unit. They both
work fine.
