With tough-to-ignite one shots -- like when the igniting powder layer
accidentally mixes with the burn powder, I've used kid's sparklers with 100%
success. Common sense safety precautions apply: use goggles, protected arm
sleeves, and welding gloves. After starting many one-shots this way, it's
now my preferred igniting method with standard one-shots.

Although possible, I advise against trying to salvage a sparkler (i.e., stop
the sparkler burn) for more than one-shot. You want as much distance as
possible between the tip of the sparkler and your hand -- even if it means
extending the sparkler handle. A box of sparklers are inexpensive enough
that a single sparkler can be wasted on a one shot.

A propane torch will definitely not ignite these. It has to be a spark. If
you follow the instructions follow recommended safety procedures there
really isn't any reason to be worried about getting burned, etc. Also the
Harger Uni-shots don't throw the sparks and flame nearly as much as the
Cadwelds tend to do.

rotating base) to the ground rods. Has anyone used cadweld on stranded
welding cable successfully? Or, just go with a bronze clamp?
