Center conductor is silver plated copper strands with a steel core which
I'd never seen before.
I think it's silver plated copper clad steel (SCCS) which is basically
silver-plated copperweld. The silver is probably a very thin flash coat
to make it more solderable, and the copper is the current carrying material.
if you google M17/112 you find a lot more datasheets out there.

## Nope. Look at
http://www.caledonian-cables.co.uk/Coaxia_Cable/M17_RG/RG304.html
It clearly depicts the center conductor as solid in their cross sectional
diagram. The only silver plated copper
strands are the two braids. I wonder how much this stuff sells for ?
