I would just go right for the calculated adjustment. It usually gets it
very close to the desired resonant frequency and you do not waste a lot of
time "trimming". If you fold the wire back you can always make it longer
if needed.

Maybe not transposed but not clear. I was showing the difference and assumed
that it was understood that the difference is what was needed to be added to
the antenna to lower its resonant frequency. The final comment was a
suggestion
to start with, say 25" when it called for 22" and trim as needed.
