It was an interesting article by K6IF and W6BD although I am not sure why
the gain figures in the chart do not match the text. The C-31XR and 4el
SteppIR are two very different technologies and yet the end results
(except for poor 10m SteppIR F/B) are very similar on the three bands
tested. Using the gain figures in the text, these antennas have only
slightly less gain than my homebrew 4el 20m OWA Yagi at the same height.
Of course a larger monobander would beat them but that is not a fair
comparison.
