Hiya, George -- Long time no see. How're you doing? You'll get lots of answers so here are a couple. Heat one piece of the boom and freeze the other piece. Use some Liquid Wrench liberally. I've found that a chain wrench is REAL handy when dealing with round objects like booms and masts.
