A few things to keep in mind about dead-end preforms if you've never used
them before:
1. You use them once, and only once. Never, ever re-use a preform if it
has been under tension for a significant length of time as they purposefully
deform slightly, which is what yields their "grip". Depending on the type,
they may also have an abrasive on the inside which, after having been used
previously, will be worn. Buy an extra one (or two or three) in case one
gets bent or otherwise damaged during installation (they're cheap enough,
why risk it).
Mine say the can be reused once and only once within about 3 or 4 day
from the initial application.
2. Aside from ordering them for the correct guy wire size, you also need to
match the lay (right hand versus left hand). If you get it wrong, you can
be almost guaranteed of a failure.
That's not normally a problem with normal hardware and "Big Grips". I
put Big Grips in quotes as it's trademarked. I've never found a Big Grip
and cable with a different lat, but I'm sure they exist for off brand
cable. Don't know if they are patented, but probably not if there are
off brands available. Course they're been in use a long time and any
patent may have expired, but the trademark should still be good.
3. Beware of knockoffs of real preforms from PLP. Likewise, beware of
cheap guy wire that may be under-sized due to bad galv plating; the OD of
the guy wire material is critical.
Or the wrong hardness as in soft.

4. Put end sleeves on the open end of the preform. They're cheap
insurance.
5. Don't be tempted to put clips on top of preforms for "added safety" -
let the preform do its job the way it was designed and you'll be fine.
