Thanks for the suggestions. The obvious one - use the xceivers two antenna
outputs to switch between amps - eluded me until I started doing some of the
hookups. Kind of a duh moment. A garden variety SPDT will work just fine for
the antenna system.
The solid state amp uses band and keying info from the transceivers acc jack,
so I did not need to worry about switching the keying line.

Why not use two Dow Key type relays each SPST. They come in several DC
voltages and 115 VAC. They will handle the 1500 watts, have low SWR, all you
need is power source and a SPDT toggle switch. Dow key type relays sell for
about $30 used last I looked, kind of old school but will sure do the job.
You would probably want to parallel up another signal relay to switch ALC
and key line as well so relays look like a good solution. 73 Ron W8RJL
