In the totally subjective, FWIW department...
I once built one of these: http://www.k4eaa.com/yagi.htm. Instead of wood, I
used PVC pipe, but otherwise the dimensions were identical.
A windstorm completely destroyed the antenna and folded the upper mast in half.
The Radio Shack rotator, however, survived and works to this day!
