one more alternative for guy attachments - DX Engineering resin yagi
element blocks, available in many sizes and not too expensive. Put an
eyebolt through both sides and its ready to go, insulated even. Since
they clamp tightly they don't need to be at the joints, but for sure
would be secure there. Even though the eyebolts aren't truly radial to
the mast center, the moment arm is small so there isn't much torque. A
metal plate should be used on both sides.

Some places used to sell clamp on guy rings for things like TV masts and
pipe towers. You might search some of the hardware sites like DX
Engineering or Tessco to see if they sell something like that. If nothing
else just put something on the vertical that isn't going to slide down it,
either a pipe clamp or hose clamp would do the job depending on how big the
tubing is. Tie pipe hitches above the clamp so they can't slide down. If
using high power or cheap rope you might want to use a short piece of rope
tied to the vertical then put a strain insulator near the vertical and tie
on the rest of the guy rope. This would protect it from arcing or degrading
the rope.

Subject: [TowerTalk] Another rope question ??
Whats typically used to attach the guys to the vertical element ? The
vertical element is a selection of fit together bits of tubing.
