Simple, and it worked out on the wet side of the Big Island (KH6) where we got 190 inches in 2009. Wrap with good quality electrical tape, coat with liquid tape. Wrap again, and coat again. Cheap effective and just split the taped connection with a utility knife when you want to take it apart.
