Normally mounting a thrust bearing upside down is not a good idea...of
course when you live in a mild climate that is not such a
problem...unless you live near the sea. The bearings are designed to
drain moisture. When upside down they collect it. It a warm climate it
just evaporates. Up here...he freezes. Close to the ocean with salt it
corrodes.
