Here's a display which I developed to characterise tuner capability:

Vertical axis is load Reactance in binary steps; horizontal axis is load
Resistance in binary steps
A cell is white if the tuner fails to achieve a match; the letters
indicate if it was short of L, short of C etc
Green cells indicate that a match is possible; shade of green shows the
efficiency
Red cells indicate capacitor over-voltage or excessive power dissipation.
The spreadsheet takes output from the AAT program on the ARRL Antenna
Book CD.
