well, I would reinforce my opinion then.
If you think humans grabbing a 9/16" rope with their hands in front of them,
maybe wearing gloves, meets the safety requirements you described ($100k
damage)
well then okay.
Me, I would use rope ascenders and a belay device.
9/16" rope and hands/gloves is pretty minimal safety.

Subject : RE: Re: [TowerTalk] need advice on 9/16 or 5/8 Rope, not for dipoles
Just to make it a little clear , the 200lb load is maybe a 5k dlls antenna,
or maybe a 200lb piece of steel that can cause 100k dlls in damages or KILL
people
9/16 5/8 or 3/4 is more comfortable to use in your hand with globes
I want something I can trust and handle with no problems, is maybe too much
but will be plenty of room to have no worries
Just found at Ebay Dacron 3/4 600ft spool, as an option at good price, but
will be looking for something better , but at least this will solve my
immediate needs
Will continue to accept more possible options, thanks for the advices and
experiences

I think when people say they need a 9/16" rope for 200 lb loads, something
seems
wrong.
If you need to handle the rope, it might be cheaper to buy a rope ascender (or
two) to provide grip/pull on the rope, and use a narrower rope.
Has anyone used this CWC polyester rope (double braided, made in china)
google "CWC 347040"
available a couple of places.
CWC 347040 $150 for 3/8" x 600'
So that would be my thought: use the minimal diameter for the load, the right
material/construction for the stretch requirements and abrasion resistance, and
solve the gripping problem with something else (if that's what the diameter of
1/2" or 9/16" comes from)
braided would be nicer than a laid rope.
