Hello Pat,

I'm faced with the same problem near Helena, I'm getting the parts together
to put up an irrigation pipe array and figuring out how to guy the thing
is my hold up right now. I went to the rental shop this winter to see what
options I had, at the time I was thinking something to drive those T-bar
steel fence post in but they didn't have anything for that.

But they had an air hammerdrill with a bit to drive ground rods, it comes
with the air compressor for less than 200.00 a day. I figure I could drive
all 16 steel rods in a few minutes with that setup. If you did get that
drill I'd look for a bit to drive ground rods most of those drills don't
have ordinary chucks on them.

I hope that a 4 foot long 7/8 inch steel rod buried in solid lime stone
would be strong enough for 64 feet of 3 inch pipe.
Good Luck,

Phil
