I think they're still using Fernco rubber plumbing boots, which really aren't designed for UV exposure. But they're relatively inexpensive. I'd suggest you try getting extra tape from steppIR, and wrap 'em with the same stuff you use to hold the element tubes in place. Or, if you're not into matching colors, use Scotch 33 electrical tape.
