The problem with following what the manufacturer says is that Rohn (just
for example) is massively inconsistent. They will tell you to use a
humongous reinforced concrete base for a 50 foot 25G, guyed tower. but offer
a thin plate base held in place with three tubes the size of the legs, that
are hammered a short distance into the ground, for the same tower. (This is
NOT a pier-pin option.)
Oh, Come on! (and, yes, I have put up a tower, but just one)
