Pipe is NOT specified by an inside diameter. It is specified by
a "trade size" that is APPROXIMATELY the inside diameter and may be
smaller or larger than the actual diameter, depending on the wall
thickness. The trade size has a specified outer diameter that the pipe
must meet. "2 inch" trade size has an OD of 2 3/8 inch. It doesn't
fit most tower installations. "1 1/2 inch" trade size has an OD of
1.9 inch and may sort of work in place of 2 inch tubing depending
on the installation.
