Simple unshielded twisted pair is an excellent solution for signalling circuits because it inherently rejects RFI and noise. One twisted pair should be used for each signaling circuit. Relatively small conductors can be used for pairs that don't carry much current. Ordinary unshielded CAT5 has EXCELLENT RF rejection.
