I use my 1" rotary impact drill. I sharpen the end of the ground rod on my
grinder, then chuck it up and off I go! 8 feet in less than a minute. And
here in Reno, we are 80% rocks...BIG rocks, and the rest is dirt.
I wonder how it would work in the caliche of Tucson?? I know that stuff is
murder...grew up there...my step-dad built our house there back in the early
50's...wanted to put in some trees, I kid you not, he had to dynamite the
holes in the ground.
