One small issue in this thread:
The large wires should connect to the brake leads in a T2X or Ham 4 unit. I
saw a couple of mentions about large wires connected to the motor.
Yaesu rotators have two leads and it is appropriate to connect the heavy
wires to the motor. The recommended cable for Yaesu rotators use the same
conductor sizes for all six leads unlike the T2X/Ham 4.
There will of coarse be applications reusing an eight conductor cable to
power a Yaesu rotator and the heavy conductors should be connected to the
motor.

Oh man... that IS a dilemma. Even if you follow the chart at the
controller end exactly, you still have the logical possibility it is wired
wrong at the high end. If you do have the guy climb it, have him take
pictures, as well as write down the color scheme.
Sorry I cannot answer your question - but I can validate it as a very
solid concern. I will say my prayers and hopefully the note slip
will surface.
Good luck. You were a good friend to help out like that.
