I know most of the big multi ops run omni antennas on 6 such as the M2 loop or the KU4AB loop but then switch to their beam (or beams) when you call. The beam is several S points higher than the loop. I used the old squalo loop years ago and its just a single loop with zero gain. Inquiring minds want to know how the M2 or KU4AB loop rate so high (look at the eHam reviews)? is it that such an antenna is better than no antenna (or loading up my 40 meter beam)?
