First, the motor drive voltage should be DC, about 12v, it reverses polarity
to change direction.  I would disconnect it at the polyphaser and check the
resistance through the motor.  Also check the resistance through the pot at
that point, it should be 500 ohms end to end.  You can apply 12vdc to those
leads (I have used a 12v cordless drill battery) from a battery or other 12v
supply and watch to see if the antenna turns.
