In order to stop oxidation at the tower legs on the aluminum, I made a
"sandwich" of stainless steel between the leg and the copper. I used a piece
of
stainless hose clamp for it.
Instead of copper wire, I used an old piece of 1/2 Heliax and pounded it
flat for the ground wire. It surely was a lot cheaper, and gave a larger
surface to "bond" to the tower. Also, I believe the flat surface area is more
conductive for lightning due to the increased surface area.
I intend to due the same thing out here in KH6 on my new tower
