Thanks for all the replies. It seems that the consensus is the 40M-2B
has maintenance issues, especially with the Lexan element to boom mount
cracking (which M2 has abandoned and redesigned - expensive). I know
that the original element to boom mounts point the element halves up a
few degrees giving the element a "gull wing" look. Is it feasible to guy
the elements up using something like a lite Phillystran cord from the
middle of one element side over to the middle of the other side of the
element. (like a strung bow-n-arrow bow)? Would this relieve some of the
moment arm stress on the element to boom mounts?
