HI Fellas,
I've run the 2" pipe all the way to the concrete base and mounted the
rotor to the concrete base. No problems with lose or popping rivets
when you take the torque load off the tower. Other benefits are that
you can pull maintenance on the rotor without climbing the tower and you
can also choose to lock the pipe down at the base where the torgue is
not an issue or let the mast free wheel if that is your preference. I
pin all the pipe couplings with stainless threaded allen screws.
