Doug, the HyTower may be viewed as a set of verticals, one for each band,
fed at a common point. The distance from the base to each stub tip is 1/4
wave or 3/4 wave for that band. The tower is a common part of each of the
antennas. On 80 the vertical is the wire up thru the center of the tower
connected to the tubing stinger at the top. It has shunt capacity to the
tower around it so the physical length is only a bit over 50 feet. 73, Dan,

Subject: [TowerTalk] Stubs on the HyTower
I looked at the manual for the HyTower trying to figure out
the stubs they use. I know a normal stub would be 1/4 wave
shorted on the feed side, thus acting as an open for the freq
of interest. But from what I remember, the stubs on the HyTower
did not make sense to me. Some seemed to be longer than expected, and
they were placed on the tower in strange places. Any insight on this?
I would like to play with this on a tower I have .
