It would take some work, but finding the "bad" address
among 700 isn't as hard as you might think.
It would take no more than 10 test mailings to
appropriate subsets of the address list. Of course,
you could send an individual test mail to each
subscriber - with a little creative scripting.
The current version of Mailman allows you to capture a
full name and address like "John Doe <doe@yahoo.com>".
Getting that data would be a good reason to get
people to resubscribe and would prevent future
problems of this kind.
Mailing list maintenance is no picnic, and I think we
all owe a big "thank you" to the managers of this
list!
