I believe "Flashing" is nominally .021" thick and is just under the .025"
that most 2-3" copper strapping measures that is used for grounding via
cadwelding. I had some undersized strap for which Alltech made a mold for me
and it worked fine.

Jason,
I have been wondering the same thing myself. I am about to call some
vendors to see what they say about it. As an alternative, I believe there
are some hefty clamps for this purpose. A while ago, N3RR posted a link to
his website where he describes his lightning ground system. Among the
photos is one showing this clamp:

I think his site might have enough info to guide you to the right vendor.

The thing I like about it is that the strap passes through the clamp so
you don't have to make any sharp bends in the strap as it goes on to the
next ground rod. Also, I imagine that you can use both sides of the clamp
if you are bringing two runs together. I am not an expert, nor do I have
any experience in using these clamps. I am considering using them if I find
a cheap source of scrap flashing. If not, I will probably go the #2 wire
and Cadweld route.

I have searched and searched throughout the archives of TowerTalk and have
not been able to ascertain the definitive (or even a good idea) method for
cadwelding copper flashing to copper-clad rods. Is this possible? Has
anyone done it? I did see one email that referred to Cadweld's commercial
molds for doing this but am not sure which product the author was referring
to.
About to put down a ground system for my tower using copper flashing and
would like to hear the best method for making the bond from the flashing to
the rods.
Thanks in advance,
Jason
