Actually, the commonly published gain figure you see for the EDZ is on the
order of 3 dB. (.64 wavelength each side of center.)
The 1.8 dB gain figure you referred to is recognized as being the gain of a
two half waves in phase commonly referred to as a collinear array. This is
type of dipole is also called the "Franklin Array".........
I am running both antennas here at my station.................an EDZ on 40
and a Franklin Array on 75M.............I have 3 acres here so lotsa'
room................
Yes, ladder line is the ONLY way to go as far as I am concerned although many
who own shares of stock in coax companies will disagree..........heh heh
