There have been a number of posts recently on Towertalk about homebrew /
homemade masts and towers, and none have received much of a response,
probably for the usual reason that everyone is too nervous to give help and
advice because of litigation worries. However, the fact remains that some
people do like to make things themselves, for reasons of cost, local
availability, or necessity. As these people are not being catered for here,
I decided to create a forum that is part of a new group of forums, under the
general title 'Homebrew Hams - Forums For Those Who Like To Do Things For
Themselves'. There are sections for Antennas, Towers, Contesting, and other
areas of discussion.
The forums are not designed to act in competition to any of the more
established ones, rather, to act as a place where you can ask questions and
leave tips that others will browse through. Ever come up with a neat idea
that you want to share with other hams ? Here's the place to do it. Ever
wanted to ask a basic question but felt nervous when amongst the big guns ?
Visit http://www.qsl.net/ei8ic/forums
I do hope the 'big guns' will visit from time to time - this is the place
your next QSO might come from !
Here's the good bit - there's no advertising, and no popups !
