Make sure the cable covering is okay with gasoline - many are not.
I put my cables either in plastic pipe or I bury the cables. Where they come
out of the ground and are accessible to the critters, I periodically spray
diluted "Red Hot" on the cables. It seems to have worked so far.

manufacturers use animal fat as a lubricant in the manufacturing process

fairy tail but who knows?). The next time I install a new cable I plan to
