Hey Gang,
I had an idea to try and reduce the interaction of steel guy cables with
antennas, without the complication of breaking them up with insulators or
switching to Phillystran.
Assemble groups of split ferrite beads and slip them over the guys,
positioning them every few feet to choke off RF currents. Anchor in place
with cable ties at each end of the bead group, and cover the works with
Scotch super-33 for UV protection.
If it works on coax, shouldn't this also work on guy cables? Perhaps someone
has already tried this.
Which type beads would you recommend and at what spacing?
