>RG213 with the >non-contaminating jacket (suitable for direct burial) Bob-- Just as long as you don't equate non-contaminating with suitable for direct burial. They are two different things. Non-contaminating means that the plasticizers in the jacket won't migrate through the braid and into the dielectric and degrade performance (increase loss). Typically PVC IIA Direct burial means that it has a special jacket that has no pin holes or has a filler type sealant that eliminates any leakage of water into the cable and keeps it from migrating through the braid, thereby increasing losses. The worst thing that manufacturers and dealers say is RG-8 TYPE or RG-213 TYPE. TYPE means "sorta like--but not really" Stay away from anything that is called "something--type". John W0UN |
