Designing a FB multi-band antenna is a challenging exercise - you change
one parameter and it changes everything else. It also creates an antenna
that's sensitive to installation-specific influences; i.e. guy wires, nearby
antennas, buildings, etc. Accounting for ALL permutations of installation
scenarios is impossible.
EVERYTHING in the antenna and support structure is some sort of
compromise so it's not uncommon to have make some sort of field adjustments
get everything to play optimally.
Actually the antennas aren't "mass produced". They're built one-at-a-time
when they get an order. If they were mass produced, Force 12 would have a
better delivery reputation than they have.
