Thanks for the reply. Considering the fact that I only saved just a few
cents per 259 at Dayton, aside from the fun of buying something at Dayton--I
may just stick with the local supplier, be assured of the quality and pay
the sales tax!! This is a small price to pay NOT to have to cut connectors
off and redo them. So much for bargains:) Tommy

Of course that happens, and not just with cheap parts.
One company sold Chinese 3-500Z's that were labeled "made in
Russia".
A company named "Penta-Labs" (there were a few Penta Labs
around) obtained dud or old Eimac (and GE) transmitting tubes and
replated them, straighten out the physical appearance, renumbered
them, and sold them as new tubes. This was the reason Eimac
started stamping a logo in the top of the tubes, or internally in
glass tubes.
Companies also make bad runs of parts.
