I use 9" of 3/16" angle iron with a single muffler clamp. The step has a
non-skid material pasted to it. They are left up permanently. Works fine,
but you need lotsa guts to climb it. I like LXC's idea of a short 2'
lanyard instead of wrapping the normal one a bunch of times.
